Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev instructed to conduct an audit of previously issued licenses in Russia for the right to use mineral resources, and was also instructed to update the monitoring system to detect violations. Such instructions were given following a meeting on the management system of the subsurface resources fund.

Patrushev stressed that about 240 types of minerals are mined in Russia, the reserves of which are concentrated in more than 40,000 deposits. The share of raw material extraction accounts for about 40% of the total federal budget revenues.

"Taking into account such a scale, of course, government policy should ensure effective management of the raw material base," the official stressed.

As mentioned, special attention should be paid to working with dormant licenses. From 2022 to 2024, about 900 licenses were terminated prematurely in the country.
