In 2024, the Maldives hosted more than two million foreign tourists for the first time in its history. This was announced by the Ministry of Tourism of the island state.

The largest number of tourists came to the Maldives from China — more than 260 thousand.

Russian tourists took the second place. Almost 220,000 tourists came to the Maldives from Russia last year.
