In less than 2024, the volume of the business tourism market in Russia increased by 25% year-on-year. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov.

According to Reshetnikov, most of the business trips were to domestic destinations. Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg are traditionally in the top of the most sought-after business cities. In the case of foreign destinations, Russian business travelers most often fly to Turkey, China and Uzbekistan.

He noted that 11 countries have joined the unified electronic visa service this year (this very opportunity was launched in the Russian Federation last year). A group visa-free travel exchange between Russia and Iran and China has also begun to operate. Thanks to these mechanisms, Russia has attracted over 1.2 million foreign tourists, 30-40% of whom are business tourists.

According to Reshetnikov, the Russian Federation is expanding marketing cooperation with friendly countries. Among the proposals formed: tourist routes in 12 regions and a catalog of tourist investment projects in the Russian Federation. All this has already been transferred to key partners.
