In 2026, Roscosmos will launch the first four spacecraft into a highly elliptical orbit, which will provide mobile objects such as trains and airplanes with fast Internet. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Finance Maksut Shadaev during a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Economic policy, TASS reports.
According to Shadaev, later, in 2027, Russia will increase its low-orbit constellation to 270 satellites, which will provide a "conditional possibility of fast Internet" anywhere in the Russian Federation.
