The Cabinet of Ministers will strengthen support for the national cinematography

The government will allocate an additional 2.6 billion rubles annually in 2025&2030 to support the production of domestic films. This was stated by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a strategic session on the development of Russian cinema.

Among the proposals he voiced regarding the support of the industry were: VAT exemption for sole proprietors working in the field of film production; development of higher, secondary, additional education, professional development and retraining systems in the field of audiovisual production; updating of existing educational standards, taking into account the prospects for the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies development of export of Russian audiovisual content and its adaptation for foreign markets of friendly countries.
