In Abkhazia, the President and the Prime Minister accepted the resignation

President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania and Prime Minister Alexander Ankvab resign from their posts.The decision to leave was made during negotiations with the opposition on November 18, in order to preserve stability and constitutional order in the country.

According to the agreements, Aslan Bzhania signs the statement, and the protesters gathered in the government building disperse. In case of non-fulfillment of the last point, the Company will withdraw its application.The resignation of Bzhania will be accepted by the National Assembly on November 19, 2024.

By agreement of the parties, Vice-President Badra Gunba will act as President of the Republic. Immediately after his appointment, Gunba dismissed Prime Minister Alexander Ankvaba from his post, and former Prime Minister Valery Bganba took his place.

    "Mass protests in Abkhazia began last week when the government ratified the law on investment agreements with Russia. The opposition gathered those who felt that the treaty contradicted the interests of the local population and would benefit only those who accept it.
