Starting from January 1, 2025, fines for traffic violations (SDA) may increase in Russia, according to amendments proposed by the government. This is reported by "Vedomosti".

The penalty for an unbuckled seat belt will increase from 1,000 to 1,500 rubles. For driving under the influence of alcohol, violators will have to pay 45,000 rubles instead of 30,000, and for refusing a medical examination, the same fine.

It is also proposed to increase fines for speeding and non-compliance with traffic signs. Currently, they range from 500 to 5,000 rubles, but it is proposed to increase them to 750-7500 rubles. The maximum recovery amounts will be valid in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The draft document provides for fines for causing minor and moderate harm to health — they will increase to 3700-7500 rubles in the first case and up to 15000-30000 rubles in the second, instead of the current 2500-5000 and 10000-20000 rubles, respectively.

In addition, it is proposed to change the terms of payment of fines. Drivers will be able to pay 75% of the fine within 30 days, instead of 50% in 20 days. It is also possible to introduce fines for driving without CTP insurance, which can begin to be issued daily.
