Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on increasing the staffing of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The relevant document is published on the portal of legal acts.
According to the document, the staffing of the Russian armed forces is increasing to 2.389 million people, 1.5 million of whom are military personnel. The government should provide the Ministry of Defense with the necessary funding for this. The decree will come into force on December 1, 2024.The previous time (in December 2023), the staffing of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation was increased to 2,209 million people, including 1,320 million military personnel.
