In the aftermath of a nighttime drone attack on the Rostov region, the Novoshakhtinsky oil refinery sustained damage and temporarily halted operations, according to regional governor Yury Slyusar.

Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed approximately 30 unmanned aerial vehicles during the incident.

The drones were intercepted over the cities of Gukovo, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Novoshakhtinsk, as well as over the Kamensky, Tarasovsky, and Rodionovo-Nesvetaisky districts.

Despite efforts to mitigate the attack, some damage could not be avoided, Slyusar acknowledged.

In Novoshakhtinsk, four private homes were damaged by falling debris from drones. Windows were broken, roofs and doors were damaged. There have been no reports of injuries among residents.

In the Kamensky district, a forest fire covering about 4.5 hectares broke out. Specialists are on site working to contain the blaze.

In the Krasnosulinsky district, dry vegetation caught fire. Emergency services continue to address the aftermath of the incidents.
