Acting Governor of Bryansk Region, Yegor Kovalchuk, announced a significant economic decision: the free economic zone (FEZ) regime has been officially extended to cover the entire region, as reported by "Bryansk News". Previously, the preferential regime was only applicable in border areas.

According to the acting regional head, investors can now launch projects in any municipality of the region, taking into account infrastructure and workforce. "This provides additional opportunities for establishing businesses and creating new jobs," Kovalchuk emphasized. Meanwhile, existing support measures for businesses in border areas remain fully in place.

Key benefits for FEZ participants include:

  • Reduced corporate profit tax and social security contributions rates;
  • Exemption from property and land taxes;
  • Accelerated depreciation of fixed assets;
  • Free customs zone regime.

Today, seven new investment projects worth a total of 18.2 billion rubles ($243 million) are already planned within the expanded FEZ, which will create over 700 jobs. The projects will focus on agriculture, processing, and machinery manufacturing.
