### Russian Central Bank Issues Commemorative Silver Coins Honoring Endangered Species
Starting August 4, the Central Bank of Russia (CBR) will release commemorative silver coins with a face value of 2 rubles, as part of its ongoing "Red Book" series. The new coins feature three endangered species: the Caucasian Forest Cat, the Spectacled Eider, and the Eared Agama.
The "Red Book" coin series, dedicated to plants and animals under state protection, was first introduced in 1992. To date, the series includes 82 coins.
These coins can be purchased through the Russian Mint (Goznak) and banks that have an agreement with the CBR for distribution.
