### Ruble Strengthens Marginally Against Major Currencies The ruble is strengthening within 0.1% against major currency pairs in the interbank market. On Thursday, the ruble against the Chinese yuan (CNY/RUB) is trading at 11.62 rubles per yuan. The USD/RUB pair is trading at 80.20 rubles per U.S. dollar. It is worth noting that the Bank of Russia will set official exchange rates for foreign currencies against the ruble based on consolidated data from both exchange and over-the-counter segments of the currency market starting December 27, 2024. This change, outlined in Bank of Russia Directive No. 6956-U, aims to enhance the representativeness of official rates as off-exchange trading volumes expand. Since June 8, 2026, the Bank of Russia has revised the calculation of the official euro-ruble exchange rate. Instead of using direct euro-ruble quotes, the bank now calculates the rate using a cross-currency formula: EUR/RUB = USD/RUB × EUR/USD (based on European Central Bank data). This overview was presented by Alexei Grischenko, Doctor of Economics, Professor at the Department of Operational and Sectoral Management of the "Higher School of Management" Faculty at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
