Crimea to Pay 15,000 Rubles to Residents Affected by Prolonged Power Outages

The Republic of Crimea will receive 5 billion rubles ($67 million) from the federal budget to compensate residents affected by prolonged power outages, regional head Sergey Aksenov announced.

Eligible for compensation will be citizens who were without electricity for more than two days.

The compensation amount will be 15,000 rubles ($200) per applicant. The regional authorities will determine the specific procedure for making payments.
