UK fully switches to e-visas, abolishes passport stickers

Britain has completed its transition to a fully electronic visa system. Starting July 2026, foreign nationals will no longer receive visa stickers (vignettes) that were previously placed in their passports, according to TASS.

This information is contained in a note from the UK Embassy in Moscow, addressed to the Russian Foreign Ministry. The document was obtained by TASS.

According to the British diplomatic mission, the electronic visa (eVisa) is now the primary method of confirming immigration status for all new holders of UK visas. The issuance of paper visa stickers has been discontinued.

However, visas issued earlier in the form of stickers in passports remain valid. Holders of such documents will be able to use them for entry into the UK until their expiration date.
