Russian security services have foiled a series of terrorist attacks involving disguised perfume sets rigged with explosives, according to a statement from the Federal Security Service (FSB).

The attacks were planned against military personnel and government officials in Moscow, Voronezh, Krasnodar region, and Saratov region. A resident of Sverdlovsk region, born in 2003, recruited by Ukrainian intelligence services, was tasked with mailing the explosive-laden perfume sets via Russian Post ("Pochta Rossii"), for which he was promised a reward by his Ukrainian handlers.

However, after completing the mission, the handlers cut off communication and did not pay him. FSB officers seized and neutralized all packages, and the suspect was detained. He has been charged under articles related to "illegal acquisition, storage, transportation of explosives or explosive devices," "attempted terrorist act," and "treason."
