No new brands have entered the Russian market since the beginning of the year, according to an expert from the Association of Trade Real Estate (ATER), Pavel Lyulin, as reported by TASS.
Lyulin attributes the zero entry of new brands into the Russian market in the first months of 2026 to the difficult previous year for Russian retail. He also noted that seven brands have left the market during this period.
"This is indeed an anti-record in recent years for the entry of new brands. The outflow with zero new arrivals is explained by the fact that the previous year was one of the most difficult for fashion retail, and many companies reduced their expansion plans, focusing on network operations and its economy," Lyulin explained.
Among the brands that have left the Russian market or closed down are Face Code (a sub-brand of Sportmaster), KCHTZ, Lite, Siberian Story, the Kazakh brand Gaissina, as well as Turkish brands Les Benjamins and Karaca Home.
