### Russian Sunflower Oil Export Tariff to Increase by 70% in April
The export duty on Russian sunflower oil will rise by 1.7 times in April, from 9,687 rubles (in March) to 16,222.4 rubles per ton, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
The export tariff on sunflower meal will also increase from zero to 749.6 rubles per ton.
The tariffs are calculated based on indicative prices: $1,270.9 per ton for oil and $203.8 per ton for meal. The tariff rate is 70% of the difference between the base and indicative prices.
The so-called "sunflower oil damper mechanism" was introduced in Russia in September 2021. In August 2024, the floating tariffs were extended for two years, until September 1, 2026. In October 2025, the government extended them again until August 31, 2028.
