Russia restricts export of fertilizers in high domestic demand

The Russian government has imposed restrictions on the export of certain types of fertilizers to ensure priority supply to Russian farmers during the spring fieldwork period, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.

Specifically, the export licenses for ammonium nitrate (a type of fertilizer) that have been issued or are to be issued will be suspended. The restriction will be in place from March 21 to April 21, 2026. However, shipments under intergovernmental agreements are exempted from this restriction.
