### Russian Air Defense Intercepts 163 Ukrainian Drones Overnight Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 163 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of airplane type during the night of March 8-9, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The majority of the drones were shot down over the Bryansk region, where 54 UAVs were neutralized. Another 47 drones were eliminated over the territory of the Republic of Crimea (a region annexed by Russia in 2014 and claimed by Ukraine). A significant number of targets were also neutralized in southern regions of Russia. Over the Krasnodar territory, 16 drones were shot down, while 11 were destroyed over Kaluga region. In Novgorod region, eight drones were eliminated. Additionally, five drones were intercepted over Belgorod region. Four UAVs were shot down over Smolensk region and over the Black Sea. Three drones each were destroyed over Voronezh region and the Republic of Adygea. Two drones each were eliminated over Rostov region and over the Azov Sea. Furthermore, one drone each was neutralized over Astrakhan, Volgograd, Oryol, and Tver regions.
