Vodka sales in Russia rise 1.9% in January

In January 2026, vodka sales in Russia increased by 1.9% year-on-year to 6.08 million dal (decaliters), according to Rosalkogoltoregulation (the Russian state agency responsible for regulating alcohol and tobacco).

Sales of sparkling wines also rose by 4% to 2.13 million dal, and grape-based alcoholic beverages containing ethyl alcohol increased by 4.3% to 156,800 dal.

However, sales of cognac decreased by 0.3% to 1.05 million dal, grape wine fell by 3.1% to 4.23 million dal, grape-based beverages without ethyl alcohol dropped by 35.3% to 17,300 dal, liqueur wines declined by 10.2% to 84,900 dal, and fruit-based alcoholic products plummeted by 44.9% to 169,900 dal.

Overall, sales of alcoholic beverages (excluding beer, beer-based drinks, cider, perry, and mead) rose by 0.5% year-on-year to 16.88 million dal: spirits with an alcohol content above 9% increased by 4.1% to 10.03 million dal, liqueur and vodka products rose by 17.7% to 1.71 million dal, while low-alcohol products fell sharply by 62.2% to 68,500 dal.
