Russia may lift the current ban on gasoline exports for major producers earlier than March 2026, according to a source close to the government cited by RIA Novosti.
"The government and relevant agencies are discussing the possibility of lifting the export ban for oil companies starting February 1," the source told the agency.
It should be noted that in late 2025, the Russian government extended the ban on gasoline exports for all exporters, as well as a ban on diesel fuel exports for non-producers, until February 28, 2026. The ban does not apply to direct producers of petroleum products.
