From August to January, Russia imported 9.2 thousand tons of apples from Georgia, becoming the largest buyer for the country with a share of over 90%, according to the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture.
During this period, Georgian apples were also purchased by Turkey, Belarus, Armenia, and Iraq, which shared less than 10% of the exports.
In total, last year Georgia exported 10 thousand tons of new harvest apples worth $7.3 million.
