Volume of Aquatic Bioresource Harvest in the Black and Azov Seas Increases by a Quarter Year-on-Year

In 2025, 54 thousand tons of bioresources were caught in the Black and Azov Seas. Compared to the previous year, the catch volume increased by 26.5%. This information was reported by TASS, referring to the data of the Azov-Black Sea branch of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO). The volume of aquatic bioresource harvesting for the past year was called the maximum over the last four years. The main objects of fishing in the Black Sea are anchovy and sprat, in the Azov Sea - pike-perch, goby, turbot, black sea shrimp, and rapa whelk.
