The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) has proposed including doctors, teachers, and scientific researchers in the subsidized mortgage lending program. This initiative was announced by Yuri Afonin, the First Deputy Chairman of the CPRF Central Committee and a member of the State Duma.
Afonin noted that Russia is facing a severe shortage of personnel in healthcare and education, which forces specialists to work multiple shifts. This leads to significant workloads, emotional burnout, and staff turnover. The problem also affects the scientific community, he added.
According to Afonin, commercial mortgages are practically inaccessible for these categories of workers. Given the high interest rates, citizens are forced to pay banks amounts equivalent to four to six market prices for apartments or houses.
"The law proposed by the CPRF can help solve some of the most important problems facing the country. It is not only about attracting and retaining personnel, but also about bringing the system of social support for specialists closer to the Soviet level. Our bill is an important step in this direction," Afonin emphasized.
