The Russian automotive market started 2026 with updated price tags. Against the backdrop of increased recycling fees and VAT, prices for new cars have risen on average by 1.5-3%, according to market participants, as reported by "Kommersant". Since the beginning of the year, both domestic and imported models have become more expensive. Prices for the vast majority of cars have increased by 50-100 thousand rubles, while premium models, such as Tank, have seen price hikes of 200-300 thousand rubles. According to dealers, the next price increase is expected in the spring. Overall, by the end of the first quarter, prices for new cars are expected to rise by 5-10%. For some models, the price increase may be offset by discounts, but such discounts as those offered in 2025 will no longer be available.
