At the plenary session of the Federation Council, a law was approved that prohibits the sale of nicotine-containing products and devices for their consumption at public transport stops.

According to the law, the sale of tobacco and nicotine-containing products will be prohibited at stops of all types of public transport: railway and bus stations, airports, seaports and river ports, as well as metro stations. An exception is made only for those retail outlets that are the only place to purchase such products in a settlement.

It is assumed that after the law is signed by the President of the Russian Federation, it will come into force on September 1, 2026.
