India aims to double its exports of goods and services to Russia, Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) President Ajay Sahai announced during a meeting of the Business Club organized by the Russian Trade Representation in India, according to TASS.
"We plan to increase our exports from $5 billion to $10 billion. There are several sectors where we have already gained access to markets, and we will likely need to increase our presence in the Russian market," Sahai said. "It is encouraging that we are approaching our goal of $100 billion in trade turnover by 2030, but I would be very happy if at least $30-35 billion came from exports from India and around $60-65 billion from imports from Russia."
Sahai highlighted promising areas for cooperation with Russia, including machinery, electronics, pharmaceuticals, tourism, transport and logistics, digital payments, fintech, renewable energy sources, green energy, shipbuilding, and ship repair.
