In October 2025, Russia produced 968 thousand tons of vegetable oils, setting a historical record. Year-on-year, production volume increased by 4.9%, according to data from "SovEcon" cited by "Kommersant".
It is noted that over the first two months of the season (September-October), the total volume of vegetable oil production in the country increased by 2.5% year-on-year, reaching 1.67 million tons.
The most pronounced growth is observed in rapeseed oil production. Over the first two months of the season, its output increased by 22.2% year-on-year, reaching 330 thousand tons. Soybean oil production grew by 38.9%, reaching 250 thousand tons. At the same time, sunflower oil production decreased by 6.9%, reaching 1.08 million tons.
Market experts attribute the growth in vegetable oil production volumes to a high crop yield. It is expected that by the end of the 2025-2026 season, the total sunflower harvest will amount to 17.4 million tons (+3% year-on-year), rapeseed - 5.6 million tons (+19%), and soybeans - 9.1 million tons (+28%).
