At an extraordinary session of the Higher Qualification Collegium of Judges (VKKS), a decision was made to allow law enforcement agencies to initiate anticorruption criminal cases against several Rostov judges. As reported by "Interfax," five judges are suspected of receiving bribes in large amounts, issuing заведомо unjust decisions, judgments, or other judicial acts, and obstructing justice. According to law enforcement officials, one of the episodes involves a bribe given by one of the judges for obtaining the position of a district court judge. Earlier, the procedure for initiating criminal cases against one current and four former judges from Rostov-on-Don was initiated by the head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastykin.
