Inflation in Russia is expected to reach about 6.8% by the end of the year. These are the forecasts of the Ministry of Economic Development, which were announced today by the head of the Ministry Maxim Reshetnikov at the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes.

Reshetnikov referred to Rosstat data. According to them, in September, inflation was about 8%, and at the moment, according to the final estimate, it is below 8%.

«Accordingly, we expect that since we had such a visible acceleration of inflation at the end of the year last year, and now we are still in the other part of the curve, we are calmly moving out by 6.8%," Reshetnikov summed up.

Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov replied that the inflation estimate of 6.8% is quite realistic.

In turn, Alexey Zabotkin, Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia, added that according to forecasts for July, the Central Bank expects more inflation of 6-7%.
