About 400 billion rubles will be spent on the development of tourism in Russia in the next five years. This became known today during the strategic session, which was held by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.
Last year, the total investment in the tourism industry amounted to 1.1 trillion rubles. At the expense of these funds, about 55 thousand new rooms for tourists were created in the country.
It is reported that the national project includes a number of support measures. Among them, in particular, assistance to the regions: points of attraction are being created, infrastructure for large tourist clusters, and modular hotels.
Support measures include the implementation of year-round resort projects in the coastal areas of the Black, Azov, Caspian, Baltic Seas, in Primorye, as well as near Lake Baikal. It is planned that up to 10 million tourists will rest there every year.
The Russian government also subsidizes loans for the construction of hotels, amusement parks, ski resorts and water parks.We plan to spend about two trillion rubles for these purposes in the next six years.
«The progressive development of the industry requires the involvement of literally all sectors of the economy, from transport and industry to culture, agriculture, and education. Coordinated work of departments is needed here," Mikhail Mishustin commented.
