The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation supports the introduction of a ban on family mortgages not in the region of registration of the borrower. This is reported by TASS.
Earlier, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, told Izvestia that the ban could come into force as early as the first quarter of 2026. According to Aksakov, its introduction is due to the fact that in 2024 more than half of all loans issued under the program are in Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. At the same time, over 40% of borrowers who have applied for a mortgage in these regions actually live in other regions of the Russian Federation.
