The State Duma has approved a report on the implementation of the federal budget for 2024. The total revenue amounted to 36.708 trillion rubles against the planned 35.062 trillion rubles, which is 26% more than in 2023.

Oil and gas revenues reached 11.131 trillion rubles (with a plan of 10.985 trillion), and non-oil and gas revenues reached 25.577 trillion rubles (with a planned 24.077 trillion). The actual expenses amounted to 40.180 trillion rubles against the expected 37.182 trillion, which led to a deficit of 3.471 trillion rubles.

Finance Minister Anton Siluanov noted the successful fulfillment of all social obligations. Social benefits for about 15 million citizens, including the disabled, veterans, Chernobyl victims and other categories, were fully indexed to the inflation rate. Insurance pensions have also been indexed for almost 30 million unemployed pensioners.

The poverty rate decreased by 1.7 million people from 8.3% to 7.2% of the population. At the same time, GDP growth in 2024 amounted to 4.3%.
