Foreign manufacturers will be obliged to use Russian components when localizing cars in the Russian Federation.

Foreign automakers may be required to use Russian-made components when localizing production in the Russian Federation. Such plans were announced by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov during a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Economic policy.

"For our Chinese partners, who are currently entering with localization projects, we have an intention to make it mandatory to use a number of components manufactured in Russia," the head of the department said.
