Starting from July 1, foreigners who have not registered with the Unified Biometric System will be denied access to mobile communications in Russia. This is reported by the Ministry of Finance.

Starting from the beginning of this year, foreign citizens can sign a contract with a telecom operator only if they register in the Unified Biometric System. At the same time, they are allowed to issue no more than 10 SIM cards for themselves," the department recalled.

According to previously concluded contracts, the deadline for the delivery of biometrics was limited to July 1. For violators of this requirement, telecom operators will begin to gradually restrict communication. First, the operator will block international and long-distance communication services, reduce Internet speed, and in a month the provision of communication services will be completely discontinued.

According to the Ministry of Finance, by now more than 2 million foreign citizens have registered with the EBS.
