In July, the Central Bank may move to a more significant reduction in the key rate compared to June. This was stated by the deputy chairman of the Central Bank Alexey Zabotkin.

"The decision at the July meeting will be dictated by the degree of our confidence that inflation is moving along a trajectory that will ensure a return to 4% inflation in 2026. If the data that will be received by this time on the economy, on the labor market, on credit activity, on inflation itself, and on inflation expectations indicate that a slowdown in inflation to 4% is consistent with a more significant step, then this option will also be considered," TASS quoted him as saying.

  • In June, the Board of Directors of the Central Bank lowered the key rate from 21% to 20%.
  • The next key rate meeting is scheduled for July 25.
