The trade turnover between Russia and Belarus has reached a record high of 4.6 trillion rubles.

Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko at a meeting with heads of state authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation and regions of the Republic of Belarus reported on the significant development of trade and economic relations between Russia and Belarus. Over the past five years, the mutual trade turnover between the two countries has grown 1.8 times, and by the end of 2024 it reached a record high of 4.6 trillion rubles. At the same time, Matvienko emphasized the transition to settlements in rubles between countries.

According to the Chairman of the Federation Council, trade and economic relations are developing very rhythmically and in a multifaceted manner, while cooperation in various fields has reached a qualitatively new level. Significant progress has been made in industrial cooperation, educational projects, humanitarian ties, and high technology. In addition, tourism cooperation is actively developing - hundreds of thousands of citizens of both countries travel to each other every year.
