An emergency regime has been introduced in the Krasnoyarsk Territory due to a diesel fuel spill in the Yenisei River. This was announced by the head of the Kazachinsky district, Yuri Ozerskikh, on whose territory the incident occurred.

According to Ozerskys, the cause of the emergency was an accident with a river vessel, which suffered a hole and ran aground, resulting in about 30 tons of diesel fuel spilling into the Yenisei. The oil slick reached the coastal zone of several settlements.

- There is no threat to the residents of our area. However, there is a danger to the local flora and fauna, which specialists will have to deal with," Ozerskikh said.

All services and supervisory authorities are working on site. The authorities are asking residents to limit their stay in the waters of the Yenisei.
