Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law that introduces requirements for the localization of cars for taxis.
According to the law, a car can be allowed to work in a taxi if one of two conditions is met: either it must score the required number of localization points (as for public procurement), or it must be produced under a special investment contract concluded between March 1, 2022 and March 1, 2025. of the year. There are special conditions: if the car is manufactured under an investment contract concluded after March 1, 2025, the decision on its admission to work in a taxi will be made by the government. From January 1, 2033, there will be only one criterion for inclusion in the taxi registry - meeting the established localization level. The law will enter into force on March 1, 2026, but in some regions it will become effective later: in the Kaliningrad Region, the Siberian Federal District and the Far East from March 1, 2028, 2028 and 2030, respectively.
