A fuel tank broke off from a plane flying over Chelyabinsk

The spare fuel tank of the aircraft flying over Chelyabinsk has become disconnected.

The incident happened in the afternoon during the flight of a group of planes over the city. Footage of the tank falling from the sky appeared on social media. The information was also confirmed by the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.

«The 112 system received a message about an incident - the fall of fragments of a passing aircraft. The forces and means of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations have been sent to the scene indicated in the message.

According to updated information, an empty spare fuel tank was disconnected from the passing aircraft. There was no information about the victims," the press service of the department reported.

The search for the fallen tank is underway in the center of Chelyabinsk in the area of the Urban Forest. It is specified that the plane from which the tank crashed was a training aircraft.
