President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has sent his delegates to Istanbul for talks with the Russian side. He said this at the end of a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"Out of respect for Trump and Erdogan, wanting to try to achieve the first steps towards de-escalation, Ukraine is sending a delegation to Istanbul," Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian negotiators will be led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. According to Zelensky, he, the head of the SBU and the chief of the General Staff have nothing to do in negotiations without Putin. At the talks, the Ukrainian side intends to discuss a cease-fire.
