One of the largest Japanese manufacturers and retailers of casual clothing, Uniqlo, will not return to the Russian market, as the head of the company, Tadashi Yanai, once made such a promise. This was stated by Alexey Repik, Chairman of Delovaya Rossiya, in an interview with "Vedomosti".

According to Repik, the head of Uniqlo promised to leave and not return to the Russian market in March 2022 under public pressure, although in the current circumstances the company would like to resume operations in the Russian Federation.

- Right-wing Japanese extremists rioted outside his offices, almost mass acts of vandalism. In fact, he was forced to make such a promise. Now he says, "I have given my word and I will keep it, because honor is important to me. Although we might like to return, we are forced to work in new conditions," said Repik about his conversation with the head of the company.
