Russia has increased potato imports 3.5 times since the beginning of the year

In the first quarter of 2025, Russia imported 432.2 thousand tons of fresh potatoes. This is reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor with reference to data from the Argus-Phyto system.

Potato imports increased 3.5 times compared to the same period in 2024. At that time, the Russian Federation purchased 124.8 thousand tons of potatoes from foreign producers.

In particular, shipments from Egypt, Pakistan, China, Kazakhstan and Armenia increased significantly. In addition, Georgia has become a new potato supplier to Russia this year.
