The State Duma Committee approved a bill on the introduction of the digital ruble

The State Duma Committee on the Financial Market has approved a bill on the phased introduction of the digital ruble and recommended that the lower house of parliament adopt it in the first reading.

The bill also provides for the introduction of a universal QR code into the payment system of the Russian Federation, which can be used to pay for goods and services.

The bill is scheduled to be considered at a meeting of the State Duma on May 20.
