New EU sanctions against Russia target energy and banking sectors - Bild

The European Union plans to impose new sanctions against Russia, targeting the energy and banking sectors, as well as shipping. This is reported by the German newspaper Bild, citing government sources.

Bild reports that Europe may completely cut off gas supplies from Russia and tighten restrictions on Russian oil prices. Negotiations with France on reducing imports of Russian uranium for nuclear power plants are also being discussed.

In the field of shipping, restrictions may be imposed on insurance of companies and tankers associated with the so-called shadow fleet.

In addition, the EU is considering the possibility of sanctions against banks, which, according to Brussels, contribute to circumventing the restrictions already imposed.
