FAS to check pharmaceutical companies due to overpricing of medicines

The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia will begin inspections of Russian pharmaceutical companies due to unjustified price increases for medicines not included in the list of vital and essential medicines.

According to the service, companies artificially inflate prices for such drugs through cross-subsidization, including marketing costs.

Earlier, the FAS had already identified violations by the KRKA company, which set monopolistically high prices for medicines.

The Antimonopoly Service intends to take measures to stabilize prices in the market of non-critical drugs.
