Russian President Vladimir Putin has taken measures to support the domestic animation industry. Thus, on behalf of the Russian leader, 20% of the funds of state support for cinematography will be used to finance national animated films.

An additional financial support mechanism is being introduced through deductions from the rental of foreign animation: 10% of the proceeds from foreign animated films will go to the Federal Fund for Social and Economic Support of Russian Cinematography. These funds will be used in a targeted manner to finance Russian animation projects.
