The new 17th package of anti-Russian sanctions may be adopted next week. According to the Financial Times newspaper, the approval of this package will take place at a meeting of EU foreign ministers scheduled for May 20.

According to the publication, representatives of the 27 EU member states at a meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the EU in Brussels "largely" agreed on new restrictive measures against the Russian Federation. On May 14, they intend to finalize the preparation of this document. In this case, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the member countries of the association will be able to approve it next week.

The European Commission presented the 17th package of sanctions to the countries of the community last week. The EC proposes to extend sanctions to 60 individuals and legal entities, 150 tankers of the Russian shadow fleet.
