Putin forbade foreign agents to engage in education

In Russia, a complete ban on conducting educational and educational activities is being introduced for foreign agents. The relevant law was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The document is posted on the official legal information portal.

Previously, the restriction on educational activities for foreign agents extended only to work with children. The innovation extends this rule to any educational activity. Upon obtaining the status of a foreign agent, the license for educational work will be terminated.

Also, according to the new standard, foreign agents cannot be included in the register of socially oriented NGOs and enter the governing bodies of state corporations. Foreign agents are not allowed to receive state financial and other property support for their creative activities.

The changes will take effect on September 1, 2025.
