In Russia, transactions for cash with housing more expensive than 1 million rubles may be banned.

By the end of 2025, Russia may ban transactions for cash with residential real estate over 1 million rubles. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to the upcoming bill.

According to the authors of the initiative, currently up to 10-15% of transactions for cash are carried out in the Russian market. The total number of crimes related to the deprivation of real estate increased from 6 thousand to 8 thousand from 2022 to 2023. The damage caused to citizens by such actions increased from 32 to 42 billion rubles.
